A local woman and fan of the Ellen DeGeneres Show received the surprise of a lifetime when the talk show host gave her a huge gift.
Celena Green, 36, lives with her husband and 13-year-old daughter in Philadelphia. Green, who works at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, is a diehard fan of Ellen. Green also says her family is living paycheck to paycheck and while they make ends meet, they aren’t able to afford much else.
Green recently wrote in to the Ellen Show. But despite her situation, she didn’t ask for anything. Instead she simply expressed how much she loved Ellen and her program.
Touched by Green’s message, Ellen decided to reward her loyal fan. On Wednesday, Ellen called Green personally while her producers secretly arrived at her home. Green screamed with excitement as Ellen spoke to her over the phone in front of her studio audience. But the excitement reached another level when Ellen’s team arrived at her door and presented her and her family with a $10,000 check.
Green and her family will fly out to Los Angeles to meet Ellen in person. Her big surprise will also air on Ellen’s show on Thursday.
