Wilmington Police say the 77-year-old woman left her keys in the ignition when she went into St. Anthony's Church on DuPont Street last Friday

The News Journal of Wilmington reported that the woman's vehicle was found Saturday, but her shih tzu, Noel, was missing. Noel is partially blind because of cataract issues.

The Wilmington Police Department issued a news release asking the public for help in finding Noel. It turns out a family living near W 29th and Jefferson Streets found her the night of her disappearance. After seeing news coverage on the dog, they turned her over to Wilmington Police on Christmas Eve. Police officers brought the dog to her home and Noel was reunited with her old owner.

Police say the woman called the entire ordeal, "a Christmas Miracle."
