Elderly Man Robbed, Beaten At Gas Station

Gas station attendant pistol-whipped by two men

An elderly gas station attendant was hospitalized after being robbed and pistol-whipped in Somers Point Saturday night.

Police said that the 60-year-old man was working at the Exxon Station at the intersection of Route 9 and New York Avenue when two black males approached him and demanded money.

The suspects struck the victim with the gun before taking an unknown amount of money and fleeing the scene via New York Avenue.

The victim was taken to Cooper Hospital for back and head injuries.

No arrests have been made in the case.
