Delaware State Police are searching for a woman who snatched an elderly woman's purse inside the Super Fresh grocery store on the 2000 block of New Castle Avenue in New Castle.
The 85-year-old was pushing a shopping cart in the store just before 11 a.m. Wednesday when the suspect tried to remove her purse from inside the cart, said police.
The victim had a hold of the purse and the suspect and victim struggled over it. The victim fell to the floor and the suspect fled with the purse, according to investigators.
The victim is being treated at Christiana Hospital Trauma Center.
The suspect is believed to be in her late 20's or early 30's. She was last seen running toward Stamm Boulevard.
