Bucks Woman Killed in Hit and Run

Driver got out to see what happened, then fled.

86 year old Cecilia Profy was walking to her sister's house Tuesday night in Bristol Borough. She never made it. The driver whose SUV hit and killed Cecelia got out of his car to see what had happened. Then he got back in and took off.

Police were looking at surveillance tape from local businesses along Radcliffe Wednesday afternoon to see if the accident was caught on tape.

Cecilia's daughter wants people to know her mom was an amazing woman who was very active in her church and her community.

Cissy Profy Quattrocchi says her mom was a very independent woman who never drove. She always walked and that's why Cecilia was well-known around town.

Cecilia had just left the library Tuesday night. It was dark. Around dinnertime. The SUV was dark too. It hit Cecilia at the intersection of Penn and Radcliffe.

Witnesses say the driver who got out to take a look around, seemed concerned, as though he wanted to help, but then fled the scene.

Cecilia's son, Vince Profy, said the family just wants to know why the driver left.

Here's how police describe the driver:

  • white male
  • late 40's or early 50's
  • salt and pepper hair
  • goatee
  • 5'7" to 5'9"
  • 170 lbs.

The SUV:

  • dark-colored
  • possibly a Ford Escape
