“Duct Tape Mom” Posts Bail

Caira Ferguson spent a week in jail for allegedly duct-taping her toddler to a chair.

The mother of the two-year-old toddler that was photographed duct-taped to a chair posted bail, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

Caira Ferguson, 21, was granted bail Tuesday in a Media courthouse, reports the Daily Times.

She wasn't yet released though as of early Wednesday afternoon.

Ferguson was arrested last Wednesday.

Police became aware of the photograph, taken last summer, on Tuesday, Feb. 15 when the young mom filed an identity theft complaint with Chester Township Police.

According to police, Ferguson admitted to taping her daughter to the plastic chair. Her mother, Ira Ferguson, says that's not so.

"I have word from her mouth she did not confess," Ira told NBC Philadelphia.

Whatever the case, 21-year-old mother is willing cooperate with police.

The paper is reporting
that Ferguson's attorney told Judge Frank Hazel that the court-ordered psychological evaluation of her client found that she doesn't have drug, alcohol or emotional problems.

Ferguson was released on 10-percent off $25K under the conditions that she has absolutely no contact with her child -- who is under the care of her godparents -- unless supervised by Child Youth Services, that she complete a parenting course and remain under electric home monitoring until further notice, according to the Delco Daily Times.
