Drunk Man Attacks Woman With Son in Car: Cops

Police say the Radnor man grabbed the woman by her coat, dragged her and kicked her.

A father is in hot water after allegedly driving drunk and attacking a woman before crashing his car – all while his 10-year-old son was in the car with him.

Police say that on Friday evening, Robert Maxwell, 45, had just pulled his Audi out of the Waynewood Avenue parking lot when he ran a stop sign and nearly crashed into another car driven by a 47-year-old woman , according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

The Times reports that the woman honked at Maxwell, prompting him to scream and make obscene gestures. He then got out of his car and began kicking the front of the woman’s vehicle. According to the paper, the victim told Maxwell that she was going to take his plate numbers and report him.

Maxwell grew even more agitated, and apparently grabbed the victim by her coat, dragged her, threw her and kicked her before hopping in his car and fleeing the scene.

All the while, his son was in the car, watching.

Minutes later, police found Maxwell standing near his car, which he had crashed, according to the Delco Times. They found the boy in the back seat.

Authorities say the man failed sobriety tests.

Maxwell is facing multiple charges. He was released on bail Saturday, reports the paper.
