Police and the Mercer County coroner have yet to release the name of the driver whose Chevrolet Tahoe drove into the southbound plow just after 7 p.m. Sunday.
The accident happened at mile marker 119 in Findley Township. That's near Mercer, about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh.
Troopers say the vehicle caught fire and spun around after rear-ending the plow. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy coroner.
The name of the dead driver hasn't been released.
Police say the PennDOT driver wasn't hurt.
