Search for Missing Delaware Airman After Truck Turns Up on Bridge

Crews and volunteers searched the water after crews recovered a pickup truck belonging to an missing Dover Air Force Base airman last seen on Super Bowl Sunday.

Senior airman Keifer Huhman, a member of the 436th Communications Squadron, failed to report for duty last Monday. After news of his disappearance surfaced, Dover Police learned that his 1997 Ford Ranger with Florida tags had been towed from the shoulder of the William Roth Jr. Bridge that spans that C&D Canal late Sunday night.

Huhman has last been seen leaving his home at the Blue Hen Apartments around 6 to 6:30 p.m., said police.

The U.S. Air Force sent out Huhman’s photo last week in hopes of finding the missing airman.

“The safety of Team Dover personnel is vitally important, and Dover Air Force Base considers itself a tight-knit family,” said the Air Force in a news release. “Base and local authorities are taking every possible step to locate Airman Huhman.”

The search continued as a missing person case as maritime units searched the water of the canal, said police.

Dover Police asked anyone with information on Huhman to call 302-736-7130.
