Donatucci, 30-year State House Member, Dead at 58

Officials say a Philadelphia representative, Bob Donatucci, is dead.

A spokesman for House Speaker Keith McCall said his office was notified early Tuesday morning that Donatucci died during the night.

Donatucci was 58 and was first elected to the House in 1980. He was chairman of the Liquor Control Committee.

A woman answering the phone in his Capitol office says she has no details of the circumstances.

McCall said in a statement that Donatucci “fought tirelessly for the people of his district and was a quiet, resolute force in the Legislature.”

He was a graduate of Bishop Neumann High School and Temple University. He is survived by his wife, Maria, and two children.
