Man Stabs Friend's Dog to Death During a Fight: SPCA

Dog killed during argument outside Overbrook home

An argument between friends Tuesday night allegedly resulted in one man stabbing the other’s dog.

The Pennsylvania SPCA was called to a house on the 5500 block of W Jefferson Street in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia Tuesday night.

Two men were allegedly fighting in a sublet yard of one of the men's relatives when the unrelated man began to stab the dog, officials said.

Humane law enforcement officers arrived at the bloody scene to find one dog dead and another dog in bad shape -- though it was unclear what caused that dog's condition, the SPCA said.

The dead dog was stabbed at least seven times, officials said.

The alleged dog killer was taken into custody and the weapon reportedly used to stab the dogs was recovered from his car, officials said.
