A man in Middle Township, New Jersey claims someone tried to poison his two dogs by stuffing sausage with medication and throwing the sausage in his yard for the dogs to eat.
Duane Pitt tells the Cape May Herald that he had to put one dog to sleep on Monday, and that another of his dogs was sick after eating the meat on January 7.
Police were not ready to say the dog's death was prompted by or even connected to the sausage.
