Doctor's License Revoked After Fondling Allegations

The Delaware Attorney General's office has asked for the immediate suspension of the medical license of a Dover doctor who officials allege committed sexual misconduct against patients.

Attorney General Beau Biden filed the emergency petition Friday with the Delaware Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline against Dr. Jerome Abrams.

Biden's complaint claims that Abrams, without medical need or justification, inappropriately touched and fondled five female patients.

The alleged incidents occurred between June 2005 and May of this year. The complaint says that Abrams came into contact with the patients during examinations at Dover Family Physicians.

Biden says his office understands that Abrams is no longer employed at Dover Family Physicians.

An investigation has been conducted Delaware Division of Professional Regulation. The case has been referred to Delaware State Police for a criminal investigation.
