Disabled SEPTA Train Strands Commuters

A SEPTA train with mechanical problems is blocking a portion of the Market-Frankford El Line.

Passengers had to be transfered from a SEPTA train stranded on the tracks above the 4000 block of Frankford Avenue to a rescue train Tuesday morning.

The disabled train blocked the Market-Frankford El line between the Erie and Torresdale stations, according to SEPTA spokesperson Heather Redfern.

The six car train stopped on the westbound tracks just after 8 a.m. Tuesday and is caused delays of up to twenty minutes on the Market/Frankford Line.

A rescue train arrived about 8:45 and SEPTA, with the help of Philadelphia Fire Fighters,  transferred passengers.
