Vanished! Delco Student Missing From Pa. College

W. Pa. college freshman missing since last week

A college freshman hasn't been seen since he walked away from a building at his western Pennsylvania school last week, police said.

Officials at Geneva College said 18-year-old Devon Minor was last seen leaving a dining hall on Thursday.

Minor's roommates alerted administrators when they hadn't seen him by Saturday morning, College provost Ken Carson said. Minor left behind his keys and cell phone.

He is a frequent texter, his family said.

It's not unusual for a college student to be gone for a night, but an absence this long is worrying, Carson said.

Minor's aunt and legal guardian traveled across the state from the family's home in Clifton Heights, Delaware County, to the Beaver County school.

Eleanor Barlow said Minor once left home for 24 hours while in high school and is a self-described loner.

"We're used to him wanting to be a alone but not to this magnitude," she said.

His family put up missing person posters up and around the campus.

Minor had no trouble on campus and there is no sign of foul play, school officials said.

A vigil for Devon and his family was scheduled for 7 p.m. at Mt Zion Baptist Church of Germantown on 41 W Rittenhouse Street in Philly.
