Pizza Delivery Man Dies in Robbery Attempt: Police

The victim was delivering pizza in Southwest Philly when he was shot.

A pizza delivery man was killed on the job Tuesday night during a robbery attempt in Southwest Philadelphia. Police are searching for the two men accused in the case.

Ronald Anderson, Jr., 29, was delivering pizza for Hot Spot on Elmwood Avenue around 10 p.m. to a home on the 2500 block of Massey Street when he was shot.

Anderson was getting out of his car when two men came up to him and told him he was being robbed, police said. Anderson was shot in the back as he tried to run back to his car, police said.

Anderson was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he died.

Police were going door to door in the neighborhood to see if anyone witnessed the shooting.

Anderson, a Chester resident, leaves behind a wife, a daughter and three stepchildren.
