University of Delaware's UDairy Creamery to Open Student-Staffed Shop in Wilmington

A Newark ice cream shop launched by the University of Delaware in 2011 is planning to open an off-campus, student-staffed location in Wilmington just in time for spring's warmer temperatures.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports that UDairy Creamery is expected to open on North Market Street, Wilmington's main commercial corridor, in May. The shop will be UDairy's first off-campus location.

All of the approximately 20 part-time jobs mixing and selling ice cream at the new store will be filled by students taking classes at a nearby building the program shares with Delaware Technical Community College.

The exact date for a grand opening -- which will feature free scoops of ice cream -- has not yet been set.
