Flags in Delaware Lower at Half-Staff to Honor Former Attorney General, Governor David Buckson

Flags in Delaware are being lowered to honor a former attorney general.

Gov. John Carney ordered United States and Delaware flags to be lowered to half-staff starting Friday to honor David Buckson after his death Tuesday at age 96.

Buckson served on the Court of Common Pleas from 1956 to 1957 and was elected lieutenant governor in 1957. He served as governor for 18 days starting in late 1960. He served as attorney general from 1963 to 1971 and was later appointed to Delaware Family Court.

Flags will return to full staff at the close of business Monday, the day of Buckson's interment.
