A Delaware elementary school teacher was arrested after he allegedly shared child pornography online.
Officials say they executed a search warrant at the Claymont home of William Herkins, IV on Tuesday and seized several electronic devices. Their investigation revealed Herkins downloaded and shared multiple files of child pornography on the internet over an extended period of time, police said.
Herkins, who worked as a teacher at Carrcroft Elementary School in Wilmington, was arrested and charged with dealing in child pornography. Additional charges against him are possible as the investigation continues, according to officials.
Herkins is being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $1,250,000 secured bail. Officials say any concerns about Herkins can be directed to the Child Predator Task Force at 302-739-2030.
