Police are searching for a man who they say tried to rob two different Delaware County banks in a 15-minute span.

The man first entered the Wells Fargo Bank on 1120 West Chester Pike in the Manoa section of Haverford Township around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, police said. The suspect handed the bank teller a note implying that he had a weapon and demanded money, according to investigators. The bank teller didn’t give him any cash and the man walked away.

About 15 minutes later, the suspect entered the Wells Fargo Bank on the 2700 block of West Chester Pike in Marple Township, which is about three miles away from the first bank, police said. He approached the bank teller and handed over a note announcing a robbery before leaving the scene, according to investigators. Police did not reveal how much money he stole.

Police described the suspect as a stocky man standing 5-foot-11. During both incidents he was wearing a grey Philadelphia Phillies t-shirt, according to investigators. Police also said he was wearing dark-colored shorts and a white “bucket” hat and had a light-colored satchel over his shoulder while inside the Haverford Township bank.

During the second incident, the man was wearing blue cargo shorts and had what appeared to be a long black wig on his head, according to investigators.
