Train Strikes Car, Driver Dies Along Main Street in Lehigh Valley

A freight train collided with a car in the Lehigh Valley Friday night leaving a woman dead.

Carol Midei, 64, of Macungie, Pennsylvania was driving along West Main Street near Mill Street in Macungie around 6:30 p.m. Midei was "disoriented with the area," according to investigators, and made a left turn on the railroad tracks, causing her vehicle to become stuck.

An incoming train then struck her vehicle. Midei was pronounced dead by the Lehigh County Coroner at 6:52 p.m.

Midei died from multiple blunt force injuries and her death was ruled an accident.
