Deadly Home Invasion in Kingsessing

A man is found dead inside his Vodges Street home. Police are calling it a deadly home invasion.

Homicide detectives and the medical examiner are investigating a deadly home invasion in Kingsessing early Wednesday morning.

Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small told NBC10 a 36-year-old man was found face down in the living room of his home along the 1400 block of Vodges Street, shortly after 2 a.m. The victim had been shot eight times at close range, said Small.

Three adult witnesses were in the home, they're being questioned by detectives.

There was drug paraphernalia and a small amount of money near the victim, according to Small.

NBC10 crews are on the scene working to gather more information.
