The largest annual rowing competition in North America kicks off Friday, bringing 3,300 competitors to the Schuylkill River for hundreds of races.
Mayor Jim Kenney will ring in the regatta at 9 a.m., as fans and rowers began gathering along the river banks by 7 a.m. in anticipation of the event.
