Police say a man who fatally shot his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself begged his son to kill him after his suicide attempted failed.
Court documents say 41-year-old Luis Montero told his 18-year-old son to finish him off after Montero killed the teen's mother on Tuesday night in Bethlehem.
Authorities say the teen refused and took the gun before calling 911 and taking his 12-year-old brother out of the house.
Montero was arraigned on a homicide charge from a hospital bed on Thursday in the death of 38-year-old Marjorie Reyes. Police say he's in stable condition and has no permanent injuries.
Investigators say Montero believed Reyes was cheating on him.
It was not clear if Montero had an attorney.
