Crying Boy Saves Dad From Heroin Overdose

The man allegedly shot up heroin while with his 4-year-old son in a public bathroom.

A Pottstown man is in jail after allegedly shooting up heroin in a bathroom while with his 4-year-old son.

Investigators say that it was the boy’s frantic cries for help that led them to his father.

According to philly.com, 29-year-old Adam Pugliese and his son arrived at the 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby on Sunday around 1:30 p.m.

Pugliese allegedly took his son with him to a public bathroom. Pugliese then shot up heroin, overdosed and fell unconscious, according to Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood.

The boy then walked out of the bathroom sobbing and asking for help. Police found the boy and followed him back to the bathroom. They then say they found an unconscious Pugliese with a hypodermic needle and bag of heroin.

Medics revived Pugliese by using two shots of Narcan, a drug used to counter the effects of a heroin overdose.

Pugliese is charged with drug violations and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held in the Delaware County Prison.

The boy is currently with his grandmother. Philly.com reports that police are unsure of where the boy’s mother is.
