A multi-vehicle crash killed a 38-year-old Philadelphia woman and injured three other people on southbound Interstate 95 near Columbus Boulevard Thursday morning.

The victim, Nicole M. Sloan, was stopped in the left-hand lane because of all the traffic. Another car slammed into her car, causing a chain-reaction crash, police say. Sloan's car was propelled into another where her car was hit a second time.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of  I-95 between Exit 22 (I-676) and Exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard) just before 9 a.m.. Traffic was backed up for several miles and the roadway was closed until 2:30 p.m.

By 10:30 a.m. two lanes of traffic were getting by the crash scene.

The accident happened about an hour after a tractor-trailer crash was cleared from I-95 in Philadelphia.

The southbound I-95 ramp to I-676 and the northbound I-95 ramp to Callowhill Street were closed for several hours after the truck, which was hauling trash, overturned.
