2 Injured in Crash on I-76 Eastbound

The crash shutdown the highway for several hours, according to police.

An accident closed Interstate 76 eastbound in Center City Philadelphia just after 1 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say at least two people were injured and transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Helicopters over the scene where I-76 meets I-676, showed what appeared to be a white trash truck on its side.

Authorities reopened the highway around 3:45 p.m.
