Couple Claims Caterer Took Their Money

The business changed hands and now one couple says they're stuck for their wedding reception

You could call it a wedding nightmare. You're getting married in two weeks, only to find out your caterer abruptly closed and took all your money.

That's a reality for many couples right now after Elite Catering in Voorhees, N.J. locked its doors leaving the brides and grooms to be -- in limbo.

Daisy Corsino and her fiancé Carlos were supposed to have their wedding reception at Elite on August 28.

They tell NBC Philadelphia they put down thousands of dollars in deposits and now no one from the catering company will return their frantic phone calls.

"It takes a year to plan for this and a lot of money, savings, and they're just taking our money…they're just taking it without any explanation," Daisy Corsino said. "At this point we're out $4,500 and we have no idea what's going to happen."

Elite Catering was sold several months ago. The website lists the new owner as Ira Siegel.

Several attempts to reach him went unanswered.
