Corbett Hits the Campaign Trail

Republican governor seeks a 2nd term

Now that Election Day 2013 is behind us, leaders are starting to gear up for Decision 2014.

After months of saying he would run for a second term and fundraising for the effort, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett is kicking off a multi-day, cross-state event tour to raise his profile with a year to go until election day.

Corbett, a Republican, was to appear Wednesday morning at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh, his home base.

After that, he'll fly to Pittston in northeastern Pennsylvania for an afternoon rally at a construction company that specializes in pipelines.

He'll appear Thursday morning at an American Legion Post in northeast Philadelphia and at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Montgomery County that afternoon.

In the following days, he's scheduled to appear at campaign events in West Chester, Allentown, Doylestown, Lancaster, York, Hershey and Erie.

A slew of Democrats have already thrown their hats in the ring to challenge Corbett.
