Cops Puzzled by Disappearance of 26 Goats

Seventy-seven-year-old Liberty Township resident Sylvia Nyman says first six goats went missing last month. And then, she says 20 disappeared.

Police are trying to find more than two dozen goats that mysteriously went missing from a farm in central Pennsylvania.

Seventy-seven-year-old Liberty Township resident Sylvia Nyman says first six goats went missing last month. And then, she says 20 disappeared. Now, Pennsylvania State Police are investigating it as a possible theft.

Authorities say the reported thefts happened sometime between Dec. 22 and Christmas Day on the farm in northern Centre County.

The Centre Daily Times reports that neighbors have long complained about Nyman's goats. Since 2009, the newspaper reports she has been on the losing end of three separate lawsuits brought by neighbors and the township.

Court documents show a judge ruled in favor of the township in October, prompting Nyman to have fencing put up.
