Victims Snap Photo of Guys Who Beat Them With Bats: Police

Construction workers assaulted with baseball bats

Two construction workers were assaulted outside the King of Prussia Mall Wednesday morning, according to Upper Merion police.

The workers drove up in separate trucks to the Toys R Us construction site around 7 a.m. where members of Local 401 Iron Workers Union were protesting and blocking the entrance.

The victim told police that the protesters would not let them drive in, so they drove across the street to the Plaza parking lot to wait for the cops to show up.

Then a black sedan drove up and several white males got out of the car with baseball bats and shattered the rear windows of both trucks, according to the police report.

The workers got out of their trucks and say the bat-wielding guys then went after them. Police pulled up and found one of the victims bent over in pain with his head bleeding. He was sent to the hospital.

One of the workers snapped a picture of the black sedan before the alleged attackers sped off. The car is a black Chevrolet four-door sedan with a Pennsylvania license plate. One man is described as white in his mid thirties, 6’1”, husky build, clean-shaven with short blondish brown hair.

If you have any information on this car or the identity of these men, Upper Merion Detective James Godby wants you to call him at 610-265-3232.
