Conshohocken Bakery Makes Bread for the Pope

Dominic Gambone of Conshohocken Italian Bakery has adopted quite a unique approach to try and grab Pope Francis' attention during the Papal visit next weekend.

The bakery has begun making a variety of religious breads for the weekend's events, hoping that the Pope will make a stop in Conshohocken to pick some up.

"That would be wonderful, "said Anna Marano, who works at the Bakery. "He should try our famous tomato pie. The Italian bread is good.

The bakery's Facebook page boasts a side-by-side photo comparison of the Festival of Families logo and the bakery's own buttery rendition.

Gambone, originally from Motella, Italy, was disappointed when he wasn't able to catch a glimpse of the pontiff during his latest visit to Italy. He is hoping that by making special breads to welcome Pope Francis, the Pontiff himself might stop by for a bite.
