Comcast CEO: Olympics Production will be ‘Technological Marvel'

Comcast NBCUniversal will blow away content records for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro this summer, Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts said.

The 2016 Olympics, which will begin in August, will be the first time the Americans can easily watch the Games live since the Olympics took place in Atlanta in 1996. Rio de Janeiro is only one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time. Comcast NBCUniversal is producing 6,000 hours of content across 11 networks and 40 simultaneous streams — more than 30 times the output during the Atlanta games.

"It will be the most sophisticated and technologically-forward-looking presentation by a lot," Roberts said during a presentation Monday at The Internet and Television Expo in Boston. "It will be a technological marvel."
