Coca-Cola Truck Crashes Into Elementary School

Building damage is still being assessed and students attended class as usual

Students and faculty at Neidig Elementary School in Quakertown got an unlikely surprise Thursday morning when a Coca-Cola truck crashed into the front overhang of the school building.

The truck crashed into the School at 8 a.m., causing the front parking lot and front portion of the building to close, and three classes to move to the gym.

Luckily, nobody was hurt and school remained in session.

Within minutes, fire, police and school district personnel were at the scene investigating the incident, ensuring that it was safe to hold classes

โ€œThe safety of our building and students is always our top priority,โ€ said school principal Tom Murray.

The district architect, fire department and structural engineers made sure the building was structurally sound before students arrived.

Principal Murray notified parents of the incident at 8:30 a.m. through the ConnectEd system and updated them again at 11:10.

The front of the building will be operational by tomorrow and if not, the front parking lot will be closed, according to Murray.

โ€œWe look forward to a great day at school today,โ€ he said.
