Cops Find NJ Burglary Suspect in Clothes Dryer

Search for tavern theft suspect ends with police capturing woman hiding out in her laundry room

An accused Ocean County burglar found herself behind bars after a clothes dryer turned out not to be the best place to hide.

Police in Barnegat, N.J. arrested Heather Oneill-Deller, 34, on Jan. 8 after she allegedly stole cash and property from Lefty’s Tavern the night before.

Police say they were called to Lefty’s for reports of the theft and identified Oneill-Deller from surveillance video inside the bar.

When police went to the woman’s home on Emerald Drive, they say they found her hiding out inside the clothes dryer.

Oneill-Deller was arrested for burglary and sent to county jail in lieu of $15,000 bail, police said.

A man in the home at the time of the arrest, Edward Deller, was also arrested. He's charged with hindering apprehension. He's also in jail.
