Citizens Crime Commission Offering $25K for Info in ‘Scream' Armored Truck Heist

The Citizens Crime Commission has taken over the reward for information leading to an arrest in the Halloween armored truck heist in Northeast Philadelphia.

The CCC and FBI are offering $25,000 to anyone who can lead them to two men who donned masks from the movie "Scream" and stole $310,000 from an armored truck driver at gunpoint.

That driver had just picked up the cash from the Wells Fargo Bank at 8001 Frankford Avenue in the Holmesburg section of the city on Oct. 31. He was ordered to the ground at the other end of two "Tec-9" style semi-automatic assault guns, authorities said.

Witnesses said they thought the heist was a Halloween joke at first, but quickly realized the robbery was the real deal.

The two robbers fled in an old minivan, driven by a third person, according to authorities. That vehicle was then ditched in a nearby neighborhood.

The FBI has collected surveillance video from nearby businesses, but has yet to release images of the suspects.
