Today, The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia began its “Christmas in July” 2012 fundraising campaign. The purpose of the event is to provide basic needs and funding for struggling Philly natives.
Celebrity mascots such as Eagles’ SWOOP and HERRS’S Chipper are set to join the cause. SWOOP will ring the bell at the Clothespin on 15th and Market from 12pm-1pm. Chipper will be stationed at the Shops at Liberty Place on 16th and Chestnut Streets from 12-2pm.
Aside from the celebrity mascots, Miss Philadelphia will also join the same location as SWOOP from 1-2.
Donations can be made to the kettles or online at SalvationArmyPhiladelphia.org. You can also text “JULY” to 80888 to make a one-time $10 contribution.
