18 Hurt in Jersey Shore Bus Accident

A NJ Transit bus collided with a car and SUV this afternoon in Atlantic City, New Jersey, sending 18 people to the hospital.

Three people had to be extricated from the car, according to police. Their injuries are the most serious.

Injuries to the other 15 victims appear to be minor.

Three people from the SUV were taken to the hospital for treatment.

A total of twelve riders from the NJ Transit bus are being treated. Ten are adults and two are juveniles.

The accident happened at the intersection of Arctic and Virginia Avenues around 3 p.m.

The 504 bus runs from Ventnor to Atlantic City. A spokesperson for NJ Transit said it was a chain-reaction crash; that one vehicle hit another and that vehicle hit the bus.
