The Intelligencer in Doylestown reported Saturday that Montgomery County last week apprehended 37 people who owed $374,000. They were arrested on warrants for failing to pay or failing to show up for court appearances.
Some paid cash to have their warrants lifted, a total of $16,000, and others were sent to the county prison until they make arrangements to pay.
The county initiated the crackdown in June following a week-long amnesty period, during which 45 parents owing $704,000 voluntarily came forward to arrange payment plans.
