Drunken Woman Shoves, Kicks Officers at Central Pennsylvania Shelter: Police

An intoxicated central Pennsylvania woman shoved one officer and kicked another as they tried to arrest her after a disturbance at a homeless shelter, police said.

Sherry Chestnut was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, trespassing and public drunkenness.

She's being held at the Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail pending a May 12 preliminary hearing.

Online court records did not list a lawyer to comment on the charges.

Lancaster police said the 40-year-old Chestnut shoved Officer Jason Zahm and kicked Officer Chad Binderup in the abdomen and hand Monday after she was asked to leave the Water Street Mission.

Police said an officer used a Taser to subdue Chestnut.
