Caught on Cam: 7-11 Clerk Fights Off Robber

Surveillance video shows a 7-11 clerk fighting off a man who tried to rob the store.

Yeadon police are on the hunt for a man who they say was caught on surveillance video trying to rob a local 7-11. It happened early Wednesday morning at the 7-11 store on 501 Church Lane in Yeadon.

Police say the suspect entered the store shortly after 1 a.m. and approached the clerk at the register, implying that he had a gun. The clerk reached out and grabbed the suspect’s arm and a struggle began which spilled out of the store and onto the sidewalk where the clerk pulled the suspect’s hooded sweatshirt off. The suspect then fled on foot northbound on the 400 block of Church Lane, according to investigators.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black male in his early 30’s standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11, weighing 185 pounds with close crop hair, a light beard and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a bluish/gray hooded sweatshirt, black “warm up” pants with a white stripe down each leg and black and white sneakers. Police also say he walked with a noticeable limp in his right foot and is believed to have a tattoo on his upper right arm.

Police also believe the same suspect robbed the same store back on April 6. If you have any information on the suspect’s whereabouts, please call Yeadon Police at 610-623-1500.
