Casino Officials Testify on Kids in Cars Issue

Parx Casino officials will be testifying to state gambling regulators about the multiple incidents of parents leaving their kids in the car while gambling

Officials from a suburban Philadelphia casino are set to appear before state gambling regulators to discuss a series of incidents involving children left unattended in its parking lot while adults gambled.

KYW-AM reports officials at Parx Casino in Bensalem are scheduled to testify before the state Gaming Control Board on Wednesday in Harrisburg.

The board asked Parx last year to come up with a plan for dealing with a series of incidents in which children were left in cars, sometimes for hours.

But the problem hasn't stopped; two incidents were reported last month.

A Parx spokeswoman tells KYW-AM the casino has stepped up security and parking lot patrols beyond what's required.
