Carbon Monoxide Kills Woman and Her Dog

Elderly woman left her car running inside of a closed garage, police say. She and her dog were found dead in the house.

Abington Township police say an elderly woman and her dog have both died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a home.

Police and fire personnel responded to the home shortly before 1 p.m. Friday after someone called to report fumes.

The investigation revealed that the elderly woman apparently left her car running inside of a closed garage. She and the dog were found unresponsive and later pronounced dead.

The name of the woman was not immediately being released. The police investigation is continuing.
