A woman is fighting for her life after a car struck her as she crossed a Berks County roadway late Saturday night.
Nicole Chamberlain, of Womelsdorf, was crossing Route 422, near Tulpehocken Forge Road, in Heidelberg Township around 11:30 p.m. when a 1998 Nissan Sentra traveling west struck her, police said.
Rescuers rushed Chamberlain to Reading Hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said.
The Nissan's driver, Michael McCowan, of Myerstown, was not hurt in the accident.
An investigation is underway. It is unclear if charges McCowan will face charges.
