Car in New Jersey Crash Later Reported Stolen: Police

Officials say a vehicle was reported stolen after it crashed in southern New Jersey, killing the driver and leaving two teens with serious injuries.

Police say the car failed to negotiate a curve in Pleasantville early Saturday, spun and slid across the road and then crashed into a sign post, fence and tree.

The 18-year-old man driving the car died at the scene. His two passengers, ages 16 and 17, have been hospitalized with serious injuries.

All three people in the car were Atlantic City residents. Their names have not been released.

Officials tell The Press of Atlantic City  the car was reported stolen out of Atlantic City later that day.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
