Car Catches Fire After Crashing Into Home

A woman is fighting for her life after her vehicle struck a home in the Summerdale section of the city.

Police say the 21-year-old woman was driving a 2008 Toyota Scion in the northbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard around 2 a.m. on Saturday when she somehow lost control of her vehicle.

The woman veered off the road, went up a curb and struck a home on the 4700 block of the Boulevard. The woman’s vehicle caught fire and bystanders pulled her out before it was fully engulfed.

The woman was taken to Temple University Hospital where she is in extremely critical condition. No one inside the home was injured.
