Camp Counselor Charged After Posting ‘Teen Fantasy' Ad

Federal prosecutors say the 39-year-old man posted an ad on Craigslist where he expressed interest in a "teenage fantasy liaison"

Federal prosecutors charge a Bucks county camp counselor who they say posted an online personal ad on Craigslist titled "Real Teen Fantasy."

An undercover officer responded to the post, posing as a 14-year-old girl.

Prosecutors say Michael Barndt, 39, of Sellersville, engaged in a series of online chats, saying he wanted to have sexual relations with the "girl" and sent pictures of his genitalia to entice the "girl" to meet him.

On June 19, authorities say Barndt checked into a hotel in New Castle County, Delaware and then went to Concord Mall to purchase lingerie for the teen he thought he was meeting. Investigators arrested Brandt at the mall.

Prosecutors say Brandt works as a cook at the Lakeside School in Horsham Township during the school year and is employed as a camp counselor at "Blue Bell Camp" in the summer.

Brandt was also a football coach in the Springfield School District in Montgomery county in Fall of 2012.

Brandt is charged with attempted enticement and coercion of a minor and attempted transfer of obscene matter to a minor.

He faces a minimum sentence of at least ten years in prison and fines up to $250,000.
