A Delaware correctional officer is now on the other side of the prison bars after he was arrested for allegedly having sex with a female prisoner.
The 22-year-old female prisoner told prison officials she and Correctional Officer Daniel Mann, 49, of Dover, were involved in a sexual relationship.
The woman claimed she and Mann began a friendly relationship shortly after she entered a work release program on March 7. The woman told officials the relationship soon became sexual in nature. The woman claims each encounter happened in the facility where she was housed.
After investigating the allegations, police arrested Mann Tuesday afternoon in Georgetown, Delaware. He is charged with sexual relations in a detention facility. He was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $4500 cash bail.
