Burglar Targets Local Jewelry Store: Cops

Police say the suspect stole watches and other items.

Police are investigating the burglary of a Philadelphia jewelry store. It happened Sunday around 10:30 p.m. at the George’s Golden Scale store on 8th and Chestnut.

Police say the burglar pushed the metal security gate up a few feet and smashed the front window. The suspect allegedly smashed a jewelry case and stole watches and other items. The suspect then fled the scene on foot, according to investigators.

Police say the suspect was cut by glass and are checking local hospitals to see if the alleged burglar checked in. No word yet on the description of the suspect or the exact amount of items that were taken.
