Bullet Shot Through SEPTA Bus

A bullet pierced a SEPTA bus window and whizzed just past the driver Tuesday

Someone shot a bullet through the driver’s side window of a SEPTA bus Tuesday night, landing behind the driver’s seat, authorities say.

No one was injured when the bullet pierced the window of the Route 17 bus in the Point Breeze section of Philadelphia at about 7 p.m., SEPTA spokeswoman Heather Redfern told the Inquirer.

The bus was driving south on 19th Street near Wharton at the time of the shooting.

This shooting happens months after a series of violent acts against SEPTA drivers that occurred late summer.

In one incident a SEPTA bus driver and a 22-year-old man were injured in a shooting in the West Oak Lane section. In another incident,  a SEPTA driver was shot by a man trying to get on her bus. She drove herself to the hospital.
